August 10 - Class in the Cafe

It is Friday and we only had three students in class today.  For the first hour and a half, we had our traditional (albeit small) class activities.  However, during the break we decided to take a field trip for the second half of class.  We packed up our things and walked to a small bar.  Our teacher knew a number of the patrons, and we sat at a table outside next to a couple with whom she is friends.

For the next hour and a half we chatted and subjected her poor friends to our Spanish.  In addition to the good Spanish practice, I got a few restaurant recommendations from the teacher's friends - maybe Albert and I will try one out for our anniversary tomorrow.

After "class", I walked back to the school where I met up with Albert.  We walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant and had Mexican tapas and Albert had a couple of beers.  It was nice and the food was good.  We were there when it opened at 8:30 and were able to get a table, but there were people being turned away by the time we left.

On our way home, Albert and I saw a news van with a very long cord that snaked around a couple of corners down into a pedestrian only zone.  The newscaster was being filmed - my guess is that they were only filming above the waist (reminded me of students who used to talk about doing Skype interviews sitting down behind a desk wearing a coat and tie and boxer shorts):

Home early tonight (before 11) - maybe do a little Spanish and go to bed early.
