August 15 - Concert in the Gardens

Today was a national holiday which meant no grocery shopping and no school (everything was closed).

This afternoon for my walk, I decided it was time to find a bridge over the other branch of the river.  It was a nice walk - the weather was cool but it was sunny.  I probably didn't find the best bridge - the view of the river was nice, but the other side of the bridge was surrounded by large abandoned lots - so I just walked over and back.

The roads were really quiet today.   I went for long stretches in my walk with not a car nor bike in sight.

This evening, Albert and I went to a concert in the "Jardines del Real Alcazar".  The Alcázar of Seville is a royal palace that was built for king Peter of Castile on the site of an Abbadid Muslim residential fortress.  The upper levels are still used by the royal family as their official residence in Seville.  At some point, we will take a tour - for tonight, we just walked around the gardens for a while before watching the concert.

The concert was a five man group from southern Spain who play celtic music.  It was part of a nightly summer concert series in the gardens.  The gardens open at 9pm for concertgoers, the concerts start at 10:30 and are one hour long.  We made it home by 12:15 - less than a half hour walk.  It was cool enough by the time the concert started for Albert to need a sweatshirt, but it is supposed to be back in the high 90's or low hundreds by the weekend.
