August 9 - Costco and Flamenco

The bus pass that I loaded a couple of days ago worked just like we expected, and Albert and I made a trip to Costco.  I had been a few weekends ago, but Albert hadn't gone.  We didn't buy much, but it was a nice outing.

Sadly because of a long wait for a bus, I had to rush off to class as soon as we got home.

There is another class going on at the same time as mine that is a little more advanced.  One of the students in that class is finished with classes tomorrow. She is an older student who has been here for a few weeks studying Flamenco in the mornings and Spanish in the afternoons.  She and a few students from her class planned to go out for dinner after class and invited me.

The original plan was to eat at a place that has a free Flamenco show on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  So, we walked there right after class.  Sadly, the food selection was pretty small and expensive - so we had drinks and a couple of students had tapas.  It was a small place and it was wall to wall people.  But we did get to see a good Flamenco show - even the woman who has been studying Flamenco (who did not have high hopes for the show) was really impressed.  There was guitar, singing, and dancing.

At around 10:30, when the show ended - it was finally time to head out for dinner.  So we went to a place nearby and had a small dinner.
At around 12:15, we finished up and headed home.  One of the other students (a young woman from France) lives near us in Triana, so we walked most of the way together.

In other news, Albert's International Driving Permit arrived today in the mail - Thank You Kathy for negotiating that transaction!!  Not sure when we will want to rent a car - it is really nice to have it as an option.
