There is a copy shop about 3/4 of a mile from here that, according to the google entry, is open on Saturday. So, we walked over, but it turns out that google was incorrect. So, we found another copy center that was another couple of miles away that was supposed to be open on Saturday. Since it was nearly 100 degrees, we decided to check out bikes instead of walking. We were not optimistic that this one would be open either, but it was a beautiful sunny day and we didn't really have anywhere else to be....so, off we went. It was also closed - google does not account for the subtleties of Sevilla in August. So, we biked back to the grocery store, did our shopping and went home. By then it was over 100 degrees and we had been out walking and biking for a couple of hours and we were wiped. Looks like we will be printing at visitor services.
After an afternoon at home and dinner in, we took an evening field trip. We had never used public transportation (metro or bus) in Sevilla before tonight, so I found an air-conditioned mall that was close to a metro stop - not really a destination, but it is right next door to the soccer stadium so we headed out to take a look. First the walk to the metro station (only about half a mile), then lots of escalators, and a pretty easy time at the ticket machine, and we were off....
The mall is a horseshoe in front of the soccer stadium...small crowd going in for the exhibition game tonight...
The center of the mall is open with a sun shade....
Just a regular mall - movie theater, food (McDonalds, Burger King, Fridays, Gelato, FroYo, multiple candy stores, chinese buffet), lots of clothes/shoes/electronics stores. We walked around for a while enjoying the air-conditioning (and the smell of movie theater popcorn) before heading home.
Supposed to be 106 tomorrow -same as today- probably ride bikes to the park and spend a good bit of time in the water park section! LOTS of sunscreen.
