August 5 - Isla Magica

This morning after watching the sad, sad Mariner's game, we packed up and headed out to the amusement park.  The first two bike racks we came to had only one bike each - but luckily, there are racks everywhere so we didn't have to go far to get to the third which had plenty of bikes.

We rode right up the entrance of the park - where there is yet another rack - and we were ready for our day of amusement.  After all of our adventures in non-printing yesterday, they were able to scan the pdf from my phone and we didn't even have to pay the printing fee.

We spent the first few hours in the park walking around and checking things out and going on rides (log flume, battering ram, swings. roller coaster,...)
Around two, we stopped for lunch and then hit a show.  Then it was time for the water park area.  Lazy river, slides, wave pool, regular pool, sitting in a beach chair reading.... We spent about 5 hours in this area and managed to keep from getting sunburned - woohoo.
The water area closed at 8, and we headed back into the general park area.  We had dinner and caught two more shows- a pirate show that was fun but a little violent (cannons, fighting, people being tossed over the side of a ship...) lots of crying children - between the late hour, the hot day, the loud and scary show - I guess it was just too much.  Then, we hit the traditional southern Spain (Andalucia) horse show with lake fountain in the background.
By the time it ended, we had been in the park for over 10 hours and we still had the bike ride home - so we didn't stay for the fireworks.

A lovely, cool ride home.  Tomorrow, back to school.
