December 15 - Good Time in the Alameda

This morning after everyone took care of their morning routines, Rachel, Taylor and I headed out on an informal tour of the city.  We took in some of the usual sites and some slightly off the beaten path.  Of course, this time of year, we also had lots of "Christmas" things to see.
After walking around for a couple of hours, we headed over to the Alameda where we met Albert for lunch at a tapas place.  I had been a couple of times before with other students, but this was a first for everyone else.  We tried six different tapas between the four of us - enough for lunch - but not too heavy.

After lunch, we walked a little further down the Alameda to the bar that our landlady's sister owns.  They were celebrating the 23rd anniversary of the bar - some snack food and drinks and some serious cake.  Mario is out of town at a swimming event - but we got to meet lots of Palma's family (her parents, her sisters and their daughter).   We had a great time.

On the way out, we checked out a few of the Christmas activities going on in the center of the Alameda.
On the way home, we stopped for groceries and then headed home.  Most of the evening was spent doing a little Spanish (me) and playing lots of words with friends (the other three).  After a full afternoon of eating and snacking - we just had leftovers for dinner.  Now everyone is tucked in for the night.

Tomorrow, we all have tickets for a soccer match and Albert and I have tickets to my teacher's play - the week is flying by!
