They went out for a light breakfast while Albert and I got ready for the day, then we went on a walking tour of the city. I have done enough walking and reading thatputting together a tour was not too hard. In addition to some of the interesting plazas, buildings, and streets that I would encourage every visitor to see, I made sure to include a special stop for Scott (a guitar player) at the Casa de Guitarra.
There is a month long modern dance "festival" in Sevilla this month with shows and exhibits throughout the city. A free show on one of the plazas was scheduled for 12:30, so I included the square on the tour - we arrived a few minutes early and had a good view. It was both more intense and more professional than I had anticipated - sometimes you just get lucky.
As we finished our tour, Scott and Shelley demonstrated their own interpretation of one of the scenes from the performance. I give them two thumbs up.
After the tour, we caught a light lunch and headed home to clean up for our Tapas and Flamenco tour tonight. We left home a little early for our tour to try to catch the beginning of the procession. We caught a few preliminaries, but had to head out before the major part of the procession came through the neighborhood. There were THOUSANDS of people.
Shelley had found and booked the Tapas and Flamenco tour - it was fantastic. We probably ate too much, but everything was great and having a local explain everything was awesome. And the Flamenco show was breathtaking. The tour group was small, just the four of us and a man from Hungary. We really did just keep getting lucky.
On our way home from the tour, we were caught in a huge crowd - turns out the procession was just ending at the cathedral only 6 hours after it started (UGH). Again, we got really lucky and saw the tail end of the procession down a small alley.
We topped off our great day the way you should top off every great day - with Helado. And then, fall exhausted in to bed!
