After the museum, we did a quick trip to the grocery store, I worked on some Spanish, and did the prep work for a new batch of salsa (lots of chopping - I miss my Ninja).
Then it was time to head out to the horse show. On the bus ride there, we sat across from these two kids, who were almost overcome with excitement. Mom had half a dozen shopping bags filled with wrapped gifts - I don't know who they were for or even for what occasion, but just their proximity was enough to keep these two happy for the whole trip.
The bus dropped us off right outside the stadium. It was dark and we pretty much just went in and went to our own arena, but the place is massive. We had never been out this way before.
The show was almost two hours of individual and groups showing off their particular brand of horsemanship. There were acrobatics and jumping and horse and carriage barrel races, and lots of standing on the backs of horses. The last act featured a guy with horses that were completely free (no bits, saddles, ropes, ...) in fact, for the first part of the act the guy was not even in the ring - I have never seen anything like it.
After the show, we took a very crowded bus home. Then, I finished up the salsa and used up the rest of the Jalapenos and Serranos from last week's visit to the market. It is nice to be able to get spicy peppers and cilantro now.
Tomorrow is Friday - another week of school nearly in the books. It is also the last day in Sevilla for a student who was in my class a long time ago - her parents are here visiting and then they are set to travel on together. She is from China, and we are planning to go to her house for dinner tomorrow night. Probably too spicy for me, but I am going to try.
