November 11 - Change is in the air

It is singles day in China (biggest shopping day of the year) and Veteran's Day in the US, but in Spain today is just Sunday.  The stores are closed and the churches are full.  But, not everybody has the day off.  Workers all over the city are starting to decorate for the Christmas season.  None of the lights are turned on yet and none of the Christmas markets are open yet (they are scheduled to open next week, not sure about the lights).  But it is fun to see things start to change.
On my evening walk, I went over to the large park that housed the Festival of Nations last month.  It is all cleaned up and quiet.  All ready for whatever is coming next....Even the benches along the walk were empty.  Just the sounds of the fountains filled the park.

For the rest of my walk, I enjoyed the changing colors of the oranges on the trees, the new street musicians

and the things that don't ever change - like the old fountains, flowering patios, beautiful buildings, narrow alleys, fancy altars, and old walls.
